Fullerton Pumpkin Launch

Just had it confirmed that the event will be held again this year. Date is November 2. I think this is the 11th time, so there's a little bit of history building, though it's a minor event.

Re: 2018 Chunkin' Events

The Discovery Science Center event hosted by Cal State Fullerton is normally the first Saturday in November. It's been around for 10 years, nearly an institution in "The OC". We just don't get confirmation until a couple of months before. Last year's page: https://oc.discoverycube.org/even...

Re: 2018 Chunkin' Events

Hmm, looks like they killed the link. It was up a week or so ago. I e-mailed them then but didn't get an answer. Guess we can write them off.

My sister, who is in the Seattle area, mailed me asking about events up there. She mentioned Sammamish as an event site, which I'd never heard of. Anybody have a clue about this, or if Burlington and/or Snohomish will be held again?

Re: Fullerton

Our 92 year old team member had a practice shot that was dead center laterally but cleared the target by about 6 inches. She was thrilled to death (maybe not the best expression for someone in that age bracket) at how the throw went. I now have an album of all entrants up on the Eastvale Trebuchet W...

Fullerton

OK, it's over and we didn't win again. There were 16 entries, with the usual sprinkling of rubber-band slingshot machines, some more sophisticated than others, a number of FATs (two original, the others F2Ks) some regular-ish trebs and two ballistas, one a truck-spring arbalest sort of thing and the...

Re: Trebuchet release angle

Tried posting a photo, Matt, got a message "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image". Whatever that means.

Burlington has a website up for their event, scheduled for Sept 30 http://www.burlingtonwa.gov/index.aspx?NID=231

Doesn't appear that Snohomish will be held.
