11th Annual Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival

Postby VTPC » Wed Sep 18, 2019 4:52 pm

Here are some random notes on our 11th Annual Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival which is coming up on Sunday, September 29th, at Stoweflake Resort, Stowe, Vermont, 11am to 4pm.

We will have the Stapleton's showing off their Stapleton "Walking Arm Trebuchet," which they have perfected at our festival over the last several years. They have come to dominate our competition with their simple and elegant design. We're very proud to have helped motivate this creativity. Jonathan Stapleton did an excellent write-up on his new design for trebuchets and posted it on Instructables.com here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Worlds-Simplest-and-Newest-Trebuchet-Walking-Arm-T/

We also just posted another video of the their "Walking Arm Trebuchet" in action on our Facebook page:

At the Festival we also live music, a People's Choice Chili Cook-off contest, and other activities.

We got a nice shout out from USA Today who voted us the Best Fall Festival in the US. Thanks to all our fans, friends and supporters, who voted us up. https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-fall-festival/

Our blog has all the details on what's going on, check it out:

Jonathan Stapleton also posted his info here: http://hurlingforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=745. It's an interesting design really only suited to events like yours with a total machine weight limit. But certainly it's effective!

Good luck with your event next weekend. I'm disappointed I never made it to the event despite living in MA for 7 years. Something always seemed to interfere on your chunk weekend!
