It should be noted that it looks like for 2016 only it is competition by invitation-only, with plans to open that back up to the public in 2017.

Indeed, they have managed to get the insurance policy written such that all parties feel the landowner is adequately protected. As such, the Wheatley's have agreed to host the event again, and a captains' vote approved this for 2016. Lots of work remains, but this is a big hurdle cleared for sure.

The Snohomish Pumpkin Hurl, which should have been mid-September, has been cancelled due to lack of resources and the organizer's illness. Boo!
As far as I know the Burlington Pitch, usually last weekend of September, is still on.

Boo indeed! Snohomish was the long-distance event of the 2 WA events as I recall? If so, that's an even bigger bummer!

Let us know if you hear confirmation of the Burlington event. I seem to recall that usually comes later in the year, but I do want to keep as complete a list as possible for those out there looking for events to attend/compete in. How to draw more traffic here to see that, well, that's something I've run out of ideas on.

There was also an event in Dorchester County, MD over this past weekend (Aug. 27) that I never added, but I believe it wasn't open for public entries, and ticket numbers were limited. This was the first year, so perhaps next year it will be bigger and open up to other participants.

I just went back through last year's list and found a few that have dates for this year that hadn't made the list. That is now corrected. Note that the Burlington, WA chunk is in 1 week and was one of those that I'd not gotten on the list, despite BobP stating in this thread that is was still on. Ooops.
