Automatically setting trigger??

Post by Melvang »

As the title says I am looking for trigger ideas for a smaller HCW. It is only 8 pounds of CW for tennis balls. But this one is being built for the kids to play with. So I want something that is kid proof in that just bringing the arm down will set the trigger.

Edit: Corrected an autocorrect fail from "not proof" to "kid proof".

How about a ring on the back of the arm and then a spring-loaded latch on the frame so when you lower the arm enough it pops past the spring-loaded catch and locks in place when pressure is relieved? A stroke limiter on the other direction of the catch could serve as the actual trigger. I'm not in a position right now to sketch something to make it clearer, hopefully that was clear enough to at least give you something to chew on?
