Looking for Mr. Goodhurl

Post by Walker »

Robert Townsend has a good lead on a new site for the Texas State Hurl.
(Re: Face Book pages named Texas Trebuchet and The Texas Chunk.)

Robert reports that there is also a 2nd field with enough space for the Unlimited Class machines to shoot.

I believe I've mentioned before that this competition is to be a fund raiser for the Lone Survivor Foundation.
If you know of a school or amateur hurling team that should be entered in this event, please pass the news to them and their contact data to Robert.

Lets get behind him on this new venue and help make it As Big As TEXAS.

If you want to have a class for younger kids to participate in Robert has my tennis ball machine plans that he can use. I'd suggest building four of each machine type and then having a school team pay a nominal fee to use the machine to participate. Otherwise they can build their own machines to the specs.

I'm currently using:
Onager: Throwing arm no longer than 1 meter.
Ballista: Throwing arms no longer than 60cm.
Inswinger Ballista: Throwing arms no longer than 350cm.
Swinging Counterweight Threbuchet: Throwing arm no longer than 2.1 meters.
Wheeled Trebuchet: Throwing arm no longer than 2.6 meters.
